COVID-19 Policies

DEAR FRIENDS OF CHARRED OAKS INN:

Greetings from the Horse Capital of the World!  Here in Kentucky, like many other states, things are beginning to change as a mutli-phased re-opening is put into action.

We so look forward to hosting guests once again!  The safety and well-being of our guests and staff are the highest priority here at Charred Oaks Inn Bed and Breakfast.  As we all continue to monitor the Coronavirus, we want to take this opportunity to make you aware of the measures we have implemented to help safeguard the health of all those visiting us here in the Bluegrass state.

Here at COI in light of recommendations from our federal, state and local authorities, we have redesigned our B&B to offer our guests a relaxing, safe, reinvigorating, and private getaway with modifications to ensure social distancing.

ROOM AVAILABILITY & RESERVATIONS:

We do not take walk-ins.

We are requiring all reservations to be made at least 48 hours in advance.

We are asking our guests to give us an ETA at the time of booking.  If plans change, or the day gets away, no problem, we just ask that you please text or call with your updated time of arrival.  We have imbedded social distancing measures in all services for guest and staff protection.

WHAT TO EXPECT UPON ARRIVAL AT CHARRED OAKS INN:

Richard and I will greet you wearing a mask even though we are fully vaccinated and boosted. (We are unfortunately taking a break from our usual shaking of hands or hugging); appropriately spaced common areas; modified menus and in-room dining; contactless check-out and housekeeping services.

BREAKFAST AT OUR LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY B&B:

Breakfast continues to be made-to-order, and is available in the Dining Room or can be delivered to your room anytime between 8:00a.m. and 10:00a.m.  (Should you require an earlier time slot, please let us know with a 24 hour notice).  Once you have made a reservation with us, we will email you a menu which we ask that you fill out and return to us prior to your arrival. We are still social distancing in the Dining Room, therefore you will be assigned a table for the duration of your stay.

AFTERNOON REFRESHMENTS – CHOICE OF AFTERNOON TEA OR FRENCH PICNIC BASKETS FOR TWO:

Afternoon Refreshments are available from 4:00PM until 6:00PM daily.  (If you are arriving later than that, no problem just let us know 24 hours prior to your arrival).

The offerings are your choice of an “Afternoon Tea” basket for two or a “French Picnic” basket for two.  The baskets will be delivered to your room, but feel free to enjoy them in the Living Room or out on the terrace (weather permitting).

Again, once you reserve a stay at COI, along with your breakfast menu, you will receive an email with a form to fill out designating your preference to be returned prior to your arrival.

HOUSEKEEPING:

If you are staying more than one night with us, we will be picking up trash and used towels outside your door and providing replacement supplies outside your door as well.

Our housekeepers will not be entering your room during your stay.  Bags will be provided for trash and dirty linens.

DEPOSITS AND TOUCHLESS RECEIPTS:

As in the past, we require an 100% deposit for one night stays due at the time of booking and a 50% deposit for multi night stays at the time of booking.  For multi night stays, the balance of your bill will be charged at the time of check in. All guests will receive an electronic receipt – at this time, we will no longer be offering a hard copy receipt.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

_ We respectfully request that guests who are NOT vaccinated wear a mask and use correct social distancing while in the inn in areas outside their rooms.  If you do not have a mask, one will be provided.

_ Richard and I along with staff have increased our hand-washing schedule to meet or exceed CDC guidelines.

_ We encourage our guests to wash their hands frequently and take advantage of the locally produced hand sanitizer.

_ All guest suites/rooms will be closed for a minimum of 24 hours between stays.

_ We have increased regular deep cleaning and disinfection schedules within the building, including door handles, railings, remotes, light switches, electronic key locks, coffee makers, etc.

COVID-19 SYMPTONS:

All guests and staff will be monitored for signs of symptoms and we ask that you stay home if you feel unwell or believe you may have been in any areas where you could possibly have been exposed to the Coronavirus.

We offer Redemption Certificates in the amount of your deposit should you need to cancel or postpone your stay due to illness.

CONCLUSION:

As this situation evolves, Richard and I will continue to keep you informed.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via text, phone call or email.

We look forward to welcoming you to Charred Oaks Inn, and as always, will do our very best to spoil and pamper you.

Be safe,

Pamela & Richard
