CHARRED OAKS INN AND SIGNS OF SPRING ...

"Daffodils are yellow trumpets of spring." ~ Richard L. Ratliff

Charred Oaks Inn is a bespoke bed and breakfast located on the west side of Lexington, Kentucky, ten minutes from Keeneland Race Track, in the middle of Horse Country and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Open year-round, this Select Registry B&B, offers safe, spacious, quiet and conveniently located accommodations. Also included in your stay is a made-to-order breakfast with fresh and seasonal ingredients along with your choice of an Afternoon Tea Basket for Two or a French Picnic Basket for Two. All of these treats can be enjoyed in the privacy of your room or outside on the terrace under an umbrella or around the firepit.

Signs of Spring very evident in the Bluegrass Region range from sightings of daffodils, jonquils, crocuses, Dutchman's Britches, and Dogtooth Violets to Star Magnolias, Maple Blossoms and lilac buds; baby horses and their mommies in the greening pastures; fresh mint and spearmint popping up just in time for Mint Julep Month beginning April 1st; the Keeneland Spring Meet kicking off April 2nd; to the countdown to 147th running of the Kentucky Derby 2021 on May 1st.

Spring also denotes availability of locally grown fruits and vegetables: asparagus, greens, lettuce, mint, peas, strawberries and sweet potatoes - just perfect for the inn's signature breakfast dishes like asparagus prosciutto tart; sweet potato hash or desserts like strawberry brownies or Mint Julep Panna Cotta.
