CHARRED OAKS INN - GO CATS!!

#BIG BLUE NATION (aka Kentucky Wildcats) is the affectionate nickname referring to the fan base of University of Kentucky sports programs (particularly the men's basketball and football teams and the women's basketball team).

Since relocating to the Greater Lexington area, Richard and I have been fortunate to have our new friends and guests at Charred Oaks Inn be very patient with us re: our knowledge (or more specifically lack of) the Kentucky Wildcats. Especially when it comes to UK's men's basketball team.

What we have learned thus far: University of Kentucky's men's basketball team is the most successful NCAA Division I basketball program in history in terms of both all-time wins (2,263) and all-time winning percentage (.764).

The current coach of the Wildcats is John Calipari. Calipari, after ten seasons at Kentucky, now trails only Adolph Rupp on the school's all-time wins list after the Wildcats defeated Auburn yesterday.

So in honor of the hometown team, we have developed a signature Charred Oaks Inn breakfast entree - our own Big Blue. The Big Blue is an ample order of thick southern-style French toast, stuffed with whipped cream cheese and fresh plump blueberries, dipped in our special custard, sprinkled with cinnamon, sugar and freshly grated nutmeg and baked to puffy perfection. The dish is served with a side of house made blueberry compote, Maine maple syrup and a choice of bacon or all natural sweet apple chicken sausage.

Our Charred Oaks Inn made-to-order breakfast is served anytime between 8:00AM and 10:00AM inr the Dining Room or if it is a special occasion, the staff will deliver breakfast in bed. Dietary preferences and food allergies are accommodated. Open year round, and located minutes from Rupp Arena, this Lexington, Kentucky B&B, offers the perfect location for out-of-town UK fans.
