CHARRED OAKS INN GUESTS FROM FAR AND WIDE COME TO ATTEND RAILBIRD!

What's a Railbird? A Railbird is a horse racing enthusiast known for sticking close to the action, hanging on the rail as each contender comes barreling down the track.

Last weekend, the term took on an added meaning with the advent of a brand new music festival held on the grounds of the historic Keeneland Racecourse here in Lexington, Kentucky.

Railbird was centered around music, bourbon and equine traditions.

Almost 25,000 attended the two-day event. Brandi Carlile, Mavis Staples, The Raconteurs, Hozier and Old Crow Medicine Show were among the favorites.

Charred Oaks Inn was teaming with excited visitors from Austin, Texas; Nicholasville, Kentucky; Lansing, Michigan and the D.C. area in town to experience the inaugural event. They were delighted to find that COI is only a ten-minute drive to Keeneland and that fun restaurants like Heirloom, Holly Hill Inn, Giuseppe's and Carsons along with area distilleries like Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve are all within a 15-20 minute radius.

Each evening, over homemade dessert and espresso in the living room, the guests would share their adventures of the day with each other.

Charred Oaks Inn, a Select Registry bed and breakfast, is open year round and located in western Lexington, Kentucky - ten minutes from the Bluegrass International Airport, and a little over an hour from both the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airports.
