CHARRED OAKS INN'S INNKEEPERS TAKE A BREAK FROM THE HOLIDAY MADNESS WITH A STOP ON THE BOURBON T

Today is the day before Christmas and here in the Greater Lexington, Kentucky area, we have beautiful blue skies and temps in the lower 40's making it the perfect day to do some last minute Christmas shopping. So Richard and I have joined the merry mayhem and have been out picking up a gift card here and there at some of our favorite restaurants; dropping in at our favorite shops to check out some good deals; and lastly, we stopped off at a couple of neighborhood distilleries to fulfill requests from friends for their favorite bourbons.

We have been to Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace and are wrapping up our day here at Four Roses.

Four Roses Distilling Company. Four Roses is near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky (about 20 minutes from Charred Oaks Inn), gives tours to individuals and small groups Mondays through Saturdays on the hour from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sundays noon to 3 p.m. The distillery is located in an unusual California Spanish Mission-style building constructed around 1910. We've had a lot of fun, but now we need to head back to the inn and finish getting ready for Christmas breakfast.
