CHARRED OAKS INN CELEBRATES SUMMER SEASON KICK-OFF AND PREPARES TO RE-OPEN

Charred Oaks Inn's Gourmet S'mores - graham crackers, Brie, chocolate, Kentucky blackberry preserves, marshmallows and blackberries.

Here in Greater Lexington, Kentucky things are beginning to open up after a successful shutdown period of being #healthyathome. Many restaurants are re-opening their dining rooms (at a reduced capacity) in addition to their delivery or curbside service and beginning next month we will see museums, outdoor attractions, wineries, distilleries and libraries join the list.

Charred Oaks Inn, a Select Registry bed and breakfast, will also be re-opening on June 1st. The owners/innkeepers, Pamela Byrne Riley and Richard B. Riley are very much looking forward to welcoming guests back to their home. Richard and Pamela, have, in light of recommendations from federal, state and local authorities, redesigned their bespoke B&B to offer guests an even more relaxing, safe, reinvigorating, and private getaway with modifications to ensure social distancing.

This upscale inn is situated in a park-like setting on almost four acres and has four large, individually decorated guest suites which are well spaced apart from each other. A Junior Suite (Room 1) is on the first floor and the other three rooms are on the second floor: another Junior Suite (Room 2); a Full Suite with its own sitting room (Room 3) and a Premium Guestroom (Room 4).

Breakfast is still included and continues to be made-to-order, however it will be delivered to your room anytime between 8:00a.m. and 10:00a.m. (Should you require an earlier time slot, please let us know). In-room dining offers contactless delivery along with sustainable single-use packaging.

In light of the current environment, afternoon "sips and nibbles" and the evening dessert in the Living Room are being suspended. These treats will still be offered, but in a different format and delivered to your room for your enjoyment. The offerings are your choice of a three-course “Afternoon Tea” basket for two or a “French Picnic” basket for two. The baskets will be available from 3:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. (If you are arriving after 7:00p.m., no problem, just let them know prior to your arrival as to when you would like your basket).

Your innkeepers will still greet you at your car, but they will be wearing masks and gloves and will take your temperature. And while Southern Hospitality is the name of the game at Charred Oaks Inn, they are taking a break from their usual shaking of hands or hugging to uphold social distancing best practices.

Each day brings new challenges and new opportunities. During these changing times, Charred Oaks Inn's innkeepers ask for your patience. Rooms are required to be shut down after each stay for at least 24 hours, but they will do their very best to accommodate all your needs.

Here's wishing all of you a safe and happy Memorial Day 2020!
