WE'LL BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU PLAN A STAY AT CHARRED OAKS INN NOW THAT SUMMER IS HERE!

Kentucky's location in the central United States translates into weather that is typically mild and moderate with average temperatures throughout the summer months historically with lows in the 60's and highs in the 80's.

Charred Oaks Inn, a Select Registry B&B, located on the western side of Lexington, Kentucky, is perfectly situated to be your home-away-from-home base for any and all adventures in the Horse Capital of the World. And Richard and I are only too happy to assist you in planning your visit.

Not sure what's here? Can't decide if it;s to be horses or Bourbon? We've put together a list of suggestions to get you started ... call, text or email us if you have questions or would like additional information.

There are several horse related activities/tours that do not require an official guide should you need something to fill in time. Keeneland (our boutique race course which is free and open daily - the horses are exercised every morning from 6:30AM until 10AM and it has a super gift shop); or the top favorite, Old Friends Retirement Farm, ( a wonderful place to go and see thoroughbreds – you can feed them, pet them, etc.). Also, the Kentucky Horse Park requires several hours to tour and the International Museum of the Horse is a Smithsonian affiliate.
